BMW Oracle Racing wins the America’s Cup

(Valencia , 14 February 2010) BMW Oracle Racing also won the second match of the 33rd America’s Cup with a convincing margin of five minutes and 26 seconds. This means that BMW Oracle Racing is the first American team to win the America’s Cup since 1992, when America3 defeated the Italian Il Moro de Venezia in San Diego.

BMW Oracle Racing crushed Alinghi

(Valencia, 2 February 2010) BMW Oracle Racing had a winning margin of 15 minutes and 28 seconds over Alinghi, in the first match of the 33rd America’s Cup. The spectacular American trimaran with its massive, 68-metre tall wing sail, was vastly superior to the Swiss catamaran.

Viasat Sport broadcasts live from Valencia

Valencia (2 February 2010) So – after more than two years of court battles – the 33rd America’s Cup will be decided. Only two teams will participate: the Defender, Alinghi, and the Challenger, BMW Oracle Racing. They will sail in gigantic multi-hull boats, in the best of three matches. Viasat Sport in Sweden and Norway are broadcasting live from Valencia, starting on Monday 8 February at 09.45.

Victory Challenge in the Volvo Ocean Race

(10 June 2009, Stockholm) When the Volvo Ocean Race arrives at the Stockholm Stopover, it will come to the place where both Gamla Stans Yacht Sällskap and Victory Challenge were founded. The Volvo Ocean Race boats will dock in Gamla Stan, where the Race Village is located. This will stir up feelings for some of the sailors on board the boats – they were part of presenting Victory Challenge’s first boat, Cristina SWE-38, here in the summer of 2000.

BMW Oracle Racing appeal

(2 August 2008) The twist between Alinghi and BMW Oracle Racing continues. The yacht club behind the American team lodged last night as expected an appeal against this decision of the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court to reinstate the Spanish Club Náutico Español de Vela as Challenger of Record.
